AT LORUSSO, WE ARE COMMITTED TO THE SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS

SDGs

Would you like to learn about our commitments to the Sustainable Development Goals?

GOOD HEALTH AND WELL-BEING

We offer 100% organic and healthy jams made with 85% fruit. They contain 40% less sugar than traditional jams on the market. We are committed to continuously improving the quality and healthiness of our products.

GENDER EQUALITY

Women hold decision-making positions in our company.

AFFORDABLE AND CLEAN ENERGY

100% of our electricity consumption comes from renewable energy sources.

REDUCED INEQUALITY

We are committed to at least one annual action against inequality with a view to fostering a discrimination-free world.

RESPONSIBLE CONSUMPTION AND PRODUCTION

We use fruit waste to produce compost on our family farm. We foster the reuse of our glass jars and bottles.

CLIMATE ACTION

We have implemented an environmental management system by obtaining the ISO 14001 certification. We are committed to environmental protection through our business activities.

ENERGY EFFICIENCY

We have 30 solar panels installed on the roof of our factory and 2 additional ones for domestic hot water.

The envelope of our artisan factory is fully insulated so that a constant temperature is maintained, with polyurethane sandwich panels to prevent heat leakage in winter and cold in summer.

In our facilities we have:

A cooling circuit and water recirculation by means of aerotherms, with a view to cutting down on the consumption of water, as well as a heat recovery system, leading to a significant reduction in gas consumption.

A coil installed in the pasteurized water gas burner to reduce CO2 emissions.

A cooler that reduces the temperature of the water in the tank to cool the jars during pasteurization, taking advantage of solar energy, through which we significantly cut down on electricity costs, the emission of CO2 gases, while improving the quality of our jams.

The foregoing led to us being recognized by the EU and the Spanish Chamber of Commerce as a “model of success” in the use and consumption of renewable energies.

COMPOSTING

After each production process the fruit waste is transported to our farm to be turned into compost.

This is the magic of reuse and recycling with imagination and a wonderful example of sustainability and the circular economy.

Are you up for reusing our jars in an original way? You can do it!

Check out some of the examples of the wonderful ways our consumers have reused theirs, where ingenuity, imagination, talent, skill and taste come together.
